Fourth Team Meeting

  • First draft storyboard
  • 3D model
  • Mood board
  • Digital version of the Studio Nimbus logo
  • Began collecting animations for showreel

We began today being shown the first draft of the storyboard that Kelsey had drawn up. This storyboard was an accurate representation of what we wanted to achieve in terms of style. The drawings don't have much detail in them and backgrounds are also quite simple.

With the rough character models out of the way this also allowed Lorne to begin a 3D model for him to present to the client. The model is going to be made in a program called Autodesk Mudbox.

Today I also created a mood board to show our style and influences as well as our colour scheme. As I didn't really know how to lay out a mood board I did a little bit of research into how to lay one out. I found this website and it really helped me understand what I needed to do as it gave plenty examples and some explanations.

Earlier I also showed off a digital version of the company's logo. We needed a digital version for some of the paperwork we were giving to the client, for example an invoice needed the logo. At first I wasn't sure which colour the cloud should be so I asked the team what colour they preferred, in the end we all agreed it should be blue.

The last thing I done today was gather together a collection of animations that each member had created in the past. This was done because I intend to create a showreel of our work to present to the client. Showing the client some of our past work is to hopefully convince them that we are able to create good quality animations and that we won't be wasting their work.
