- Discussion about changing the idea from TV Pilot to a Movie Tralier
- What style of animation we plan to use
- How the character designs have come along
The first thing I brought up at the tea meeting today was that I believe that the synopsis we had come up with was better suited to be the story for a movie. We could then pitch that, depending on the success of the film, a TV series could potentially follow afterwards. The team agreed that this was the better option and this meant that Kelsey could draw the storyboard for the film trailer.
We then went onto decide what kind of animation style we plan to use as well as defining what media we plan to create the movie in. Currently 3D animation has been on a huge rise and we've already seen a number of hugely successful 3D animations in film, the most recent one would be Frozen. 3D also has advantages over 2D so its in our best interest to explore that. However, in the end, we decided that our animation should predominately be 2D based but will include some form of 3D animation. Also 2D animation will suit the style we aim for, which is plain and simple yet with vibrant colours. A very detailed animation would not only be time consuming, it will also cost a lot due to the extra manpower we will need. Also kids aren't necessarily too interested into heavily detailed characters and settings, so a simple style with bright colours will be more beneficial in attracting our audience.
Tron completed rough sketches of each character to present which meant Kelsey was able to complete the storyboard. He provided us with a variety of sketches.
